NCMA - Of and For Collegiate Ministry Professionals

Founded in 1964 by campus ministry professionals of many denominations in the United States, the National Campus Ministry Association brings an ecumenical focus to a long tradition of Christian ministry in higher education.

With other people of faith, NCMA is committed to working together to create a world that is open, reconciling, and affirming. We celebrate our diversities and welcome members without regard to race, gender, nationality, age, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities or economic means.

With over four decades of advocacy, collegiality, and commitment to ministry in higher education, NCMA helps provides for personal and professional growth to those who are engaged in campus ministry, full or part time, clergy or laity through . . .

1. Maintaining a network for mutual support and resources, including the Partnership Program which pairs new campus ministers with experienced mentors.
2. Encouraging collegial support and dialogue in each of its five regions
3. Providing national conferences and occasional papers on topics of importance to our constituency.
4. Coordinating a shared ministry with denominational groups with national and international settings.
5. Providing scholarship support to first time attenders at the annual conference.
6. Assisting in the CM101 New Staff Training events held every 2-4 years.
7. Promoting regional ecumenical events for staff and students.
8. Providing a concentrated voice to the national denominational collegiate ministry offices
9. Maintaining an interactive web site for members and others invested in higher education ministry.
10. Linking staff professionals through frequent list serve notices.

As a member of NCMA you can expect to ... * Receive "REALM of Higher Education", the newsletter of NCMA and a vital link in the national network of campus ministers, published three times a year.
* Receive occasional papers and other publications in print and electronic media.
* Receive discounted fees for NCMA national and regional conferences.
* Participate in the advocacy for and shaping of ministry in higher education.

Note: Membership dues are payable in January for a calender year's membership. Many ministries provide for professional association dues in their local budget.
